This sumptuous ship was built in Woolwich by Phineos This and his son Peter. It was beautifully decorated. Its rigging was that of the classic three-masted ship: at the front the foremast, in the center the mainmast, at the rear the mizzen mast.

Wishing to evoke through Tintin, the history of means of transport, peoples, countries..., Hergé developed the Chromos project with the help of E.P. Jacobs.
The first images appeared in 1946 in the Tintin newspaper and the chromos could be obtained in exchange for Tintin stamps.
Broader at the start, the project narrows and becomes the history of means of transport.
The 300 existing chromos are signed Hergé and appear in 2 stages.
Firstly, in collaboration with E.P.Jacobs, the series AEROSTATION and CHEMINS DE FER appeared.
Then in collaboration with J.Martin appeared the series THE AUTOMOTIVE FROM THE ORIGINS TO 1900. WAR AVIATION 1939-45. AVIATION FROM THE ORIGINS TO 1914. THE NAVY FROM THE ORIGINS TO 1700. THE NAVY FROM 1700 TO 1800
