Ribbon on the edge of the hat probably wool style rope and adorned with a small copper button.

The construction of the hat is made of a metal shank for shape, a card for the inner edge (remnants of vintage newspaper), and a cotton lining.

A glued tag says size 6 3/8 which refers to a British size.

This hat was frequently worn by boys of the time to accompany their sailor suit.

Very good condition for the time except: 2 small holes from needles on top (hard to see)

2 small holes from needles on the stem of the side of the hat (see photos)

Inner circumference: 6 3/4 inches or 17 cm
