Vintage poster depicting the coat of arms of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Probably late 1950s.
The coat of arms of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador was granted by King Charles I in 1637.
The colours of the St. George's flag, originally a red cross on a white background, are reversed to mark an alliance by making the coat of arms distinctive. The lion and unicorns are inspired by the royal coat of arms of England.
This is a beautiful execution of a 1950s heraldic poster. Hand lettering and drawing. Finished with gold paint.
Very interesting vintage graphic.
Good vintage condition except for cracked lower right corners (see photos)
Resplendent colors
