This superb postcard photo is part of R.F. Lehnert's 3rd artistic period, the Egyptian period (1924-1930).
The other periods of this artist, known worldwide for his views of North Africa, his landscapes of the Sahara and his portraits, are the Tunisian period (1904-1914), the German period (1919-1924) and finally the second Tunisian period (1930-1939)
The work of this photographer, marked by colonialism and orientalism, is at the crossroads of pictoralism and art nouveau.
His partner Ernst Landrock assumed the role of studio manager until the beginning of the second Tunisian period.
