This first part of the lunar adventure is the 16th album in the TINTIN series.
HERGÉ drew his inspiration for the lunar adventure from WERNER VON BRAUN's programs on the V2 and the research of HERMANN OBERTH who was technical advisor for FRITZ LANG's film "WOMAN IN THE MOON" (1929), whose screenplay, sets and technological prowess are almost entirely found in OBJECTIVE MOON and WE WALKED ON THE MOON.
HERGÉ also consulted "The Man Among the Stars" by Bernard Heuvelmans and "Astronautics" by Alexandre Ananoff.
