10th album in the Adventures of TINTIN series, this album was published in the midst of the world war (1942) while HERGÉ's Belgium was occupied by Nazi Germany.
THE MYSTERIOUS STAR marks the beginning of four-color printing for the TINTIN albums. With the appearance of mushrooms, apples and giant spiders, the fantastic intervenes for the first time in the universe of HERGÉ. It is also about the rivalry for progress between Europe and the United States.

A meteorite fragment fell in the arctic. In the company of European scientists, Tintin and Captain Haddock set up an expedition to recover part of it. The expedition turns into a race against time when a rival ship financed by a New York financier seeks to arrive first...
